I've never had physio before. What can I expect?

  • During your appointment, I will listen closely to your concerns and needs, learn more about any pain, health and function goals.

  • We may need to assess living spaces for falls risks and trip hazards and help you create a safer environment for you to move in.

  • Assessment is tailored to your presentation, your goals and needs and past medical history.

  • We can then plan together the best way to achieve your goals.

  • It's often also necessary (if applicable) for me to liaise with your GP/family/support workers, or other - this is known as multidisciplinary care.

03.

Do I need a referral?

  • Physiotherapists are considered a first contact practitioners which means no referral is needed.

  • However...

  • If you are an NDIS patient, all the necessary NDIS paperwork is required prior to your first appointment.

  • Team Care arrangements ARE a referral in and of themselves. Payment for team care arrangements is required up front with rebate claimable from Medicare. We cannot process rebates immediately unfortunately.

  • I'm unable to see DVA patients at home or in rooms.

  • Workcover will be considered on a case by case basis.

04.
